Start from the bottom

The floor on your balcony is probably either concrete, tile or some other plain, unappealing surface. Find a cool patterned or colorful rug to give your patio some pizazz! Try to find one that is also easy to clean.Be sure to measure your balcony space beforehand to ensure your rug fits well and looks great! Checkout some of these patterned rugs from Target, available in several different sizes.

Add Furniture

Add some comfortable outdoor furniture. Look for furniture with cushions and pillows, or find some that you can easily choose and add your own cushions and pillows to while still having the piece look like they go together. Take a look at for a wide selection of outdoor furniture and decor. Maybe consider one of these nap-worthy outdoor daybeds! Hammocks are another great option, especially if you don’t have a lot of space.

Add Plants

Plants make a space feel more relaxing and alive. Consider adding some easy-to-care-for plants, or if you are looking to make your patio into a garden space instead of a lounge area, check out this list of the best plants for a balcony garden from Balcony Garden Web. Try adding some hanging plants to maximize space.

Hang Lights

String up some lights or lanterns to make your place shine and give your balcony a fun, laid back vibe. Wayfair has a great selection of all sorts of outdoor lights that will help your patio glow. Just be sure you have an outlet to plug them in and an extension cord, if necessary.
