We all know the stereotype (and lets face it, truth) theres nothing quite like fresh Wisconsin ice cream. June 20th marks the official first day of summer and the official first day of our ice cream tour through Madison. In this post, weve got four local ice cream shops that were dying to try this summer. Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. Honestly? We cant think of anywhere that serves more flavors than the Chocolate Shoppe Ice Cream Co. Were planning to try their Green Tea, Fat Elvis, and Eggnog flavors this summer. They offer non-fat greek yogurt, non-dairy soy, and non-dairy italian, caffeinated ice cream, sherbet and no sugar added ice cream, as well. Babcock Hall Dairy Store Babcock Hall Dairy Store offers a bevy of unique flavors that come in a variety of sizes. Their selection ranges from a Bec-Key Lime Pie to Toasted Smore to a Lactose Free Vanilla. They also offer Sherbets, Frozen Yogurt, and a variety of cheeses. Ellas Deli and Ice Cream Parlor This traditional deli has your ice cream (and sandwich) needs covered. Wed try their Coconut Canopy (coconut, hot fudge and vanilla ice cream) or their Confetti Mint Fudgy (mint chocolate chip ice cream, pecans, hot fudge, and whipping cream) if we were you. And we wish we were you. La Coppa Gelato Cafe Listen, ice cream doesnt have to be for everyone. If youre looking for a good cup of gelato, look no further La Coppa Gelato Cafe has your back. They dont just sell gelato plain; they also have their own Gelato Creations. Were dying to try the Some Like It Hot selections (and not just because theyre named after one of our favorite Marilyn Monroe movies!), like the Coppa Hot Hazelnut with homemade chocolate sauce, fresh whipped cream, caramel sauce and hazelnuts. We hope that youve enjoyed our trip through the ice cream parlors of Madison! Barrington Place Apartments hopes that you stay cool this summer with our central air system and a nice chocolate sundae.
